'Women's Liberation' is Becoming Absurd and Lethal

Breaking news: Women’s rights have now been expanded—the Pentagon has lifted its military ban on women serving in combat. This is “equality” taken to another level, and placing all concerned in jeopardy. While woman have always played important roles in the military, this move brings to question how much we respect the sanctity of womanhood and its right to be protected. The desire for women to rub out gender distinctions has only served to hinder their true freedom. And under the pressure of political correctness and ignorance, men have helped to push this misguided agenda.
The confusion of the sexes and their uniqueness has brought us to a crisis. To subject our women to front-line combat is not only irresponsible, but is disrespectful to the female gender. Men and women are not “equal”, and to deny that fact is to display practical ignorance and jeopardize their rights and safety.
As a seasoned citizen, it’s been painful to watch the trend of the sexes. God made a man and a woman distinct for a specific purpose. To deny this distinction can only promote confusion, and do great harm to the human race. Women are trying to be masculine, while men are becoming effeminate. And if homosexuality and lesbianism take over, we’ll be sterile and unproductive. Even the animals at the zoo “understand” this concept.
A husband and wife in a home setting, raising up children to be mature adults is indeed a normal concept, or at least has been until more recently. Failure here explains why our nation is rapidly being destroyed from within. The “weapons of mass destruction” are not in Iraq, but right under our nose!
The lie of evolution has attempted to rub out the line between the sexes, and instead of “liberation” we have bondage. With the way God made us hormonally, does it make sense to disregard sexual temptation when placing 500 female sailors on a battle ship with 1800 men? How wise is it to let a male and female soldier share a “fox hole” in a combat zone, and think that there’ll be no “hanky- panky?” Then when illicit sexual activity and pregnancies occur, we scratch our heads. Where’s the common sense in all this?
I saw this trend coming when females were enrolled at West point. That is not being critical of women, but rather to be realistic about what’s best for young men training to be military leaders. Few would deny that the integration of the sexes in such an intense program poses great temptation and compromise. This same principle was true in the older days when boys and girls went to separate high schools and colleges. This was equality in action, granting young people the opportunity to be educated and matured without distraction. The social life came into play, but never as a substitute for hard work and career preparation. Love and marriage followed in due time; new families were established, and the cycle was repeated.
This whole concept seems to be thrown to the wind. Men protected women, treating them with respect and concern. When married, he became the bread-winner, while she was the home-maker. There was no competition, but a loving cooperation. Mom was the “queen” of the castle, while Dad brought home the “bacon.” Both were on the same team, working together for the total welfare of their family. There was no substitute for a Mom or a Dad---both were essential.
In the 1960s home life began to change, with more “moms” working outside of the home. Finances were a factor, especially since the “baby-boomers” were starting college. In addition, the spirit of rebellion moved through our country, with increasing issues with authority. It was the era of heavy metal and hard rock music which has greatly affected our society to this day. In addition, the Bible was thrown out of the public arena, and the Woodstock movement of “free love” and drugs became vogue. The Viet Nam fiasco further fomented a general anger and disrespect for authority. Lawlessness prevailed, leaving traditional values in the dust. The rest is history.
Getting back to women in combat; this was unheard of in all precious wars, not just because of physical inferiority, but because men have felt responsible to take the lead in battle, without subjecting females to such danger. Men attempted to protect a woman’s freedom to perform what God called here to do; for no man can do what a woman does, and every honest husband knows by experience that a faithful wife is stronger than he is. To be the family provider is built into men; that’s why a man who doesn’t work is discontent, no how much unemployment he collects.
A true woman, who may work outside from necessity, yet really desires to be a homemaker and a mother. That’s why so many “women libbers” who appear to have no use for men, still want to have children after their “career” begins to wane. God put that desire in their heart! Now we’re attempting to make normal what use to be abnormal. Even animals are content in their environment. They are doing what God created them to do; a fish is content in the pond, and will die out of the water. So many men and women are like “a fish out of water,” not satisfied in their God-given situation and purpose.
It’s time to stop the insanity and get back to what God intended for both men and women. Both are equal in God’s sight, but with different roles to perform; one is not any less important than the other. When men can start having babies, then I’ll consider applying for “men’s liberation.”

It's Time to Face the Truth about Human Nature

The reality of man’s sin has become antiquated, or at least politically incorrect. With all the recent shootings, including the massacre in Newtown, Ct., it’s getting very tiresome and annoying to hear all the claptrap about making guns the culprit. It’s amazing to what lengths our leaders and psychologists will go to bypass human responsibility. In fact, it’s downright criminal to excuse criminal behavior at any level. But we are reaping what has been sown for several generations in our schools, government, and homes. I’m speaking of the seeds of evolution which have all but replaced the creation concepts found in our Judao-Christian tradition.
The origin of how the human race began is absolutely essential to understanding criminal behavior. As a boy in public school, our teacher opened the Bible each day and read passages like, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth; and God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.” I also learned that “all have sinned and come short of the glory of God;” that the “wages of sin is death…and that it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” In a word, man is born a sinner before God, and is responsible for his actions; he will one day stand before God in the judgment, giving an account for his sins.
But she didn’t stop there; she said that this same God made a remedy for man’s sin, explaining the real meaning of Christmas. It’s found in capsule form in John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son; that whosoever believeth in him, should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
That wasn’t considered “religious” teaching in school, but rather the Facts! Charles Darwin and his evolutionary theory was just that---a “theory,” or “educated guess.” In place of acknowledging the God who created all things seen or unseen, his teaching relegated things as evolving totally through secular means, dispelling anything divine. Simply put, he inferred that we began as a piece of Goo, eventually ending up in the Zoo, and now it’s You! How asinine is that? There’s no limit to where sinful man will go to deny God’s existence. Indeed, to embrace evolution takes more faith than believing the Biblical account in Genesis 1:1! Nevertheless, this theory has become “fact” in academia, and explains much of the mess we’re in today.
If evolution is true, then how do we understand the universality of sin? Where and when did the Fall of man occur? Where did conscience come in to play---that inner moral voice in every human soul? Have we “evolved” to the degree that we don’t anticipate a future judgment? Those who are murdering others, with or without guns, will one day stand before God’s all-seeing eye, and be condemned accordingly. David said, “The wicked shall be turned into Hell, and all the nations that forget God.” (Psa.9:17) As a nation, we have declared war on God and His Word, and we wonder why violent crimes continue to escalate.
Is a man a thief because he steals, or does he steal because he’s a thief? Is one a murderer because he murders people, or does he murder because he’s a murderer in his heart? It’s about time we get real and face this issue. Jesus said that it’s not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out of his heart. He said, “out of the heart of man proceed evil thoughts, adulteries…murder, thefts, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, (and) foolishness” (Mk.7:21,22). Yes, we have a problem with dope and booze, but they are eventually expelled from the body. The biggest problem is the cesspool of man’s wicked heart and steady stream of corruption that flows from it. A man isn’t going to Hell because he drinks or snorts Cocaine; he’s going there because of his rebellious, unbelieving heart, and simply gets drunk on the way.
If somehow a new heart (spirit) can be transplanted into a man, then good things will begin to flow; because “if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new” (2Cor.5:17). There will be new “habits” overriding the old; divine “control” will not only prevent murder, but will enhance the believer’s desire to celebrate life in others. God’s love, “injected” into the heart, results in fulfilling God’s law. A person under God’s control will not rob or murder his neighbor. Guns, knives, hammers, and wicked hands do not kill of their own; but people do—people with murder in their hearts. Let’s get off the “gun control” kick, and place the blame where it really belongs. We need to get back to legitimate marriage, strong homes, child discipline, Biblical catechism, accountability, reverential fear for God and those in authority, swift justice, integrity, etc. It’s time to return to the Basics that made us a great nation. We need to take personal responsibility for our actions, and stop “passing the buck.” May God give us grace to face the truth.

A Lawman "Arrested" by God

Trooper Wayne Price was an outstanding lawman with the New Jersey State Police in the 1990s.  His integrity and determination were well known—the kind of guy that pursued a suspect until he “got his man.” I met Wayne as a result of a suicide attempt, and his wife’s request for me to visit him. He was this tall, robust, and intimidating man, who had committed himself to a mental ward after several bouts with suicidal thoughts. Being a proud man, he was very reluctant to share his condition with me, but in time he began to open up.
He related how that while driving the police cruiser, he was overwhelmed by thoughts of depression and death; there was a powerful urge to place his service revolver to his head and pull the trigger. When that failed to let up, he decided to remove the bullets from the gun, and throw them out of the car window. He then frantically drove himself to the hospital in Camden, NJ. Needless to say, as his wife’s pastor, I had a real challenge on my hands. While he was quick to receive the doctor’s medication, he strongly resisted my attempt to give him Biblical counsel. He mentioned “becoming a Christian” as a young boy, but admitted that there had never been a change in his life. After some serious discussion, I handed him a pamphlet on the need for repentant faith in Christ, and left the room.
His dear wife took some flack for sending me to visit him. In a few days he was released from the hospital, and eventually returned to work. He later contacted me to “take issue” with the booklet on repentance. He let me know that his childhood “profession of faith,” and baptism were sufficient to make him “saved.” Not long after, his wife called to tell me that Wayne was on his hands and knees on the kitchen floor crying out to God! Needless to say, it wasn’t long before he embraced Christ in repentant faith, and called me with the news. Wow! What a turn of events!
He began attending church with his wife, and obviously was a different man. He asked if I had more booklets on “Repentance” to hand out to his fellow troopers; he acknowledged that the teaching he had fought to the hilt, was just what he needed. He became a stalwart Christian not only at church, but in his performance as a police detective and undercover agent. Our relationship was special, and things he did for me are still ongoing.
His new life in Christ became a source of persecution in his line of duty. It was not uncommon for other officers to attempt to bring him down by planting “porno”    magazines, etc. in his bunk at the barracks. Wayne was diligent and respected in his work, while his clear-cut testimony was met with considerable opposition.
One brief anecdote is in order. On our church visitation night, we would go out as teams to share the Gospel with folks in the community. Wayne and Foster were partners, both being tall, husky guys. They entered a development of row homes and began knocking on doors, which is not an easy task. The “fear of man” is very prevalent, and sometimes you’re happy if no one answers the door. Foster mentioned later that the big, tough state trooper, who breaks down doors to arrest criminals, knocked at a door with trepidation. Without even waiting for someone to come to the door, Wayne said, “Let’s go, nobody’s home,” and rushed away. We laughed about that episode, which illustrates how helpless we are without God’s boldness and strength.
Wayne touched many lives with the Gospel. His testimony was eventually featured on “Unshackled,” the radio drama of changed lives from the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago. He faced many struggles over his later life, not the least of which was liver cancer from which he died. It was a distinct honor to conduct his funeral in Bloomsburg, PA where he had a vacation home. The respect and love of his comrades was obvious when both the New Jersey and Pennsylvania State Police combined efforts to pay tribute at his burial.
The motorcade of fellow officers, family and friends, traveled across the Delaware River and were met by a parade of PA troopers. The caravan was so huge that a major expressway was closed for the occasion! His casket was drawn by a stately, horse-drawn coach, while a police bag-piper played “Amazing Grace.” The word “inspiring” is hardly adequate to describe that scene. That was further enhanced by a full military-gun salute, followed by a breath-taking aircraft “fly-over.”
The above scenario points to a life of dedication to law enforcement. It also illustrates the hope we have in Christ and the triumphal entry into Heaven one day. Wayne was “arrested” by the Saviour, who then released him from the “prison house” of sin; thus, he was engaged in liberating others. Christ alone was his hope, and having passed on to Glory, he leaves behind a testament and challenge to those who remain.
